| Born in Chalatenango, El Salvador, Ivan Rodriguez has lived in the Bay area for the past twenty years. During his employment with Bon Appetit Catering in San Francisco, California in 1984, he studied and completed a course on Advanced Baking and Decorating. It was at Bon Appetit Catering that Ivan was able to expand on his professional career as first their Cook and then became a Baker/Assistant Manager who was responsible for the daily baking operations for three Bay Area Convention facilities and two full service California restaurants.
His affiliation with The Yountville Pastry Shop in Yountville, California as Pastry Chef making French pastries, birthday and wedding cakes also honed his culinary skills.
Since 1988, Ivan’s tenure with Silverado as the Lead Pastry Chef has earned him recognition for the "over the top" Holiday Sweet Table. Ivan oversees production of seven facilities for the entire Pastry Department. His delicacies include such items as petite fours, breads, Danish pastries, daily desserts, sauces, doughs, and beautifully decorated specialty cakes. It is the Bar & Grill restaurant’s Coconut and White Chocolate Layer Cake with Guava Sauce dessert that has become one of Ivan’s truly spectacular “yum-yums” on the menu.
