The HeART of the Valley
April 29, 2022
While tucked away in luxury, your vacation escape can be both eventful and educational. Join us as we appreciate art in Napa Valley, highlighting local favorites bringing alive the NorCal culture.
Napa Valley artist and winegrower, Elana Hill, showcases her talent in this stunning blend titled “Dreamscape,” as seen on our Instagram. This Northern California native has displayed her work in galleries and museums throughout California, New Mexico, and Nevada. She’s also the daughter of William Hill, owner of William Hill Estate Winery, just minutes down the street from Silverado. All of Elana’s art can be purchased online here!
After taking some time apart from the vineyards to appreciate the art in Napa Valley, make sure to fit time into your itinerary to head to the Jessel Gallery. If you’re in town for the 2nd or 4th Tuesday in the month, become the artist for the day and take the Diane Pope Watercolor Class. Also offered on Wednesdays and Fridays, tap into a new skill with a Jessel Miller Acrylic Class. The Jessel Gallery is also home to his original pieces, just waiting for you to bring them back home in the form of a shirt, a stylish tote bag, or even a cellphone case. This May, make sure to check out the Flora & Fauna show featuring a fundraiser for Ukraine.
The di Rosa Center For Contemporary Art is another stop during your stay if you truly want to take in the creativeness of this region. Current exhibits include Erik Scollon’s imaginative mind in “Anything With a Hole… Is Also a Bead,” and the renovation of The Incorrect Museum series this May, featuring art by Deborah Remington, Wally Hedrick, and Nathan Oliveira. The center is built around a beautiful view, with permanent collections of Napa Valley art and thought-provoking educational programs, adding more wisdom to your vacation.
As you drive around exploring, see if you can spot the fun sculpture done by Napa artist Gorden Huether. Hint? “Is That Bob & Margrit” is resting on top of the Culinary Institute of America, 75-ft above the valley. This piece honors the couple that revolutionized the Napa Valley wine scene.
Between the unforgettable views, wine tasting, and the art of Napa Valley, Silverado is home to the finest accommodations for an amazing getaway.
