Judith Caldwell, MST, EdD has been teaching movement classes since 1975. Known for the care that she provides her students, Judith is a compassionate professional who finds it a pleasure to support the well-being of those interested in maintaining their physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual health.

With two Masters degrees and a doctorate, Judith continues to expand her knowledge of optimal living, while offering integrative exercise classes, meditation sessions and workshops at Silverado Resort and Spa.

Dr. Caldwell is a degreed and licensed Non-Denominational Minister who enjoys holistic endeavors that provide enrichment and renewal for the body, mind, and soul..


Nancy Mullen, Silverado Resort and Spa Fitness Supervisor/Personal Trainer attended Temple University as a Physical Education major and has been in the fitness industry for over 30 years.

She has worked all facets of the industry including: aerobic instructor at a womens’ fitness studio, Aerobic Director and Manager at La Cancha Racquetball and Health club and currently fitness supervisor and membership coordinator at Silverado Resort and Spa.

Throughout her career, Nancy continues to keep current with fitness trends and her education including AFAA Personal Training Certification, ACE Certified professional aerobic instructor, Injury and Illness Prevention Progressions, Exercise Science fundamentals, Senior Functional Fitness, WaterART Fitness International Certified Instructor and has recently completed WaterART instructor training for Shallow and Deep Water Workouts. “The science of water exercise has given individuals more opportunities to exercise in a safe, effective and FUNctional environment with programs such as Pre/Post rehabilitation, arthritis, weight management and walking programs.

As more doctors are prescribing exercise to help people maintain wellness as well as possibly avoiding chronic diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and cancer, I am committed to helping people make exercise part of their daily life”.


Julie Ex, life-long Napa Valley resident, began teaching classes at Silverado Resort and Spa in May 2011. Her career started working as a chemist/engineer for a medical device company where she was running stability studies for a drug coated coronary stent device.

After losing her job along with 600 other employees, she reevaluated her career options. Now, she is doing something she enjoys and is truly passionate about.

Julie is ACE certified Group instructor and has attended workshops for Turbo Kick and WaterART™. She is a NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) Certified Personal Trainer and experienced in Pilates and core training.

Although working in the fitness industry has been a big career change, it is a perfect fit for Julie and she is happy working with such wonderful associates and dedicated members and guests.


Nina Jolliffe has been in the Spa/Fitness industry since 2007. She has successfully lead fitness teams in opening two new YMCA centers and has developed innovative programming for their group fitness classes.

Her certifications include: NASM Personal Trainer, Les Mills™ certified CXWORX™, Bodypump™ and Bodycombat ™instructor and TRX ®Suspension Training. Our members have commented that Nina is knowledgeable and gives them a highly effective workout. 


Kathy Shea has been teaching Yoga since 2007 in both the yoga studio setting and Fitness club setting. She has taught Yin yoga, Power yoga, YogaPilates, and Vinyasa Yoga Flow.

She has earned a RYT certification for Yoga and has a reputation for high energy classes. Her yoga experience has followed her to England, Colorado, and The Spa at Silverado.


Jason Sampson has been in the Fitness Industry since 2012. He is a Crossfit Level 1 certified trainer, N.A.S.M. (National Academy of Sports Medicine) Certified Personal Trainer. N.A.S.M. has set the standard for over 20 years in certification and continuing education for health and fitness.

Jason has successfully lead Fitness classes and designed Personal workouts that motivates clients to achieve their Fitness goals. His programs are designed to encourage proper form, nutrition choices, as well as effectively breaking down complex movements into manageable pieces ensuring clients are able to grasp the concepts and perform movements safely, successfully, and proficiently. He has been a member of the Spa Fitness team since 2012.


Lisa Hansen has an extensive background in teaching. She has a degree in Physical education and has taught for many years in the public schools. She is a Private Fitness coach and yoga instructor with over 200 hours of yoga training. Lisa’s specialty is Hatha Yoga and loves to share her passion for yoga especially with novice and beginner yoga students.
